A Journey Beyond the Movie: Co-op Storytelling in 'Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora'

If you've been harboring doubts about "Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora" leading up to its December 7th release, the latest issue of GameInformer Magazine has unveiled a treasure trove of information about its co-op gameplay.

Journeying to the Mystical Western Frontier

Set against the backdrop of the enigmatic western frontier, "Avatar: Frontiers" embarks on a brand-new narrative that runs parallel to the events of the iconic 2009 film "Avatar." In this game, you will assume the role of a Na'vi protagonist, torn from their native land at birth by the RDA and raised among humans. The RDA hoped to use these Na'vi children as ambassadors to connect with the local Na'vi clans. However, when the pivotal events of the original movie transpire, the program grinds to a halt, and all Na'vi candidates enter into indefinite cryostasis.

Years later, you awaken unexpectedly, thrust into the harsh and unforgiving wilds of Pandora. Your journey involves rediscovering your Na'vi heritage and navigating the challenges of this stunning yet hazardous world. "Frontiers of Pandora" promises a fresh and exciting adventure, appealing to seasoned fans and newcomers alike.

Unveiling the Co-op Experience

As previously disclosed, "Avatar: Frontiers" will feature seamless drop-in co-op gameplay for two players. Fans of the "Avatar" universe have eagerly awaited the opportunity to explore new environments and confront dangers alongside a friend. However, details about the co-op experience were sparse until now. In an exclusive interview with GameInformer, members of Ubisoft's development team shared invaluable insights into the co-op gameplay.

"Frontiers of Pandora" is geared toward co-op, with the progress made during these sessions seamlessly carrying over to solo play. Furthermore, co-op partners can exchange gear and equipment, adding a deeper layer of social interaction to cooperative play. Concerns about inadvertently skipping essential story moments are misplaced: co-op story progression will only advance if both players are at the same point in the game's storyline, preventing the accidental omission of essential plot developments.
