Third-Person and New Game+ Mode Come to "Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora" this December

Released in December of 2023, a year after Avatar: The Way of Water’s release, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was an instant hit with fans of James Cameron’s colorful world. Since its initial launch, fans of the game have enjoyed two DLCs (The Sky Breaker and The Secrets of the Spires). Since the latest DLC, it has been largely quiet from Ubisoft Massive, the game’s producer. However on July 21st, Ubisoft Massive announced that on December 5th of this year, the studio will be releasing an expansive, free update to the game! This surprise update includes "two of the most requested features from the community", according to Omar Bouali, the directive creator for Frontiers.

In a video posted to the official Frontiers YouTube and social media channels, Bouali explains that, at long last, players will be getting access to not only a New Game+ addition, but also the ability to convert their Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora gameplay into third person! The lack of a third-person mode was the largest pressure point for many players at Avatar: Frontiers' initial launch. Bouali assures that the third person option will “bring a new sense of scale, freedom, and immersion” to gameplay. The New Game+ option also promises to allow you a replay of the game, complete with “your inventory and skills” as well as a new skill tree and gear.

For new or returning fans of Avatar, this patch will be a perfect time to revisit the immersive world of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora this December, alongside the upcoming Avatar: Fire and Ash. Whether or not this news heralds more DLCs or content in the future remains unclear, but even so, fans have plenty to look forward to at the end of this year!
