New "Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora" DLC Announced: "From the Ashes"

Get ready, gamers. On September 23rd, 2025, we received a new trailer from Ubisoft that confirms a new DLC for “Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora” will be dropping on the release day of “Avatar: Fire and Ash.” In following the theme of fire and destruction, the DLC is appropriately titled “From the Ashes.”
The reveal trailer opens in an ash-heavy environment, reminiscent of Jake’s awakening in a destroyed Hometree in the first Avatar. Amid the crackling of fire, we hear an ominous voice declare “Eywa has abandoned you,” a rather terrifying statement that any Na’vi might shudder to hear. The Na’vi we see next bring together every theory about “Ash clans” that fans have thought up in the wait for “Fire and Ash.” They wear the white and red paint we see on Mangkwan leader, Varang, along with scarification and metal jewelry. To top it off, they carry metal knives and guns, with one Na’vi carrying a gun with a skull decorating the barrel. The voice concludes it’s statement with “And this time, you have nowhere left to run.”
In a heartbreaking turn, the next shot shows what appears to be the decimated Kinglor forest and Aranahe hometree. Gray, polluted, and quickly moving into industrialization, the RDA fly overhead our apparent Ash Clan members as they overlook the devastation. The ominous voice proclaims, “Our fire is coming, Dog-Tag Warrior,” as we witness So’lek rise with determination through the flames as he bears his knife and hisses. Notably, his collected RDA tags from his quest for vengeance are missing.
There is an evident history here between So’lek and our unknown speaker, though what it could be remains up to audience speculation. In this DLC, the player will be playing as So’lek as he continues on his quest for vengeance, but with the added cost of securing the safety of his friends and family from the Sarentu, and the Resistance.
The trailer ultimately leaves us wanting more, and with questions aplenty. What happened to bring the Aranahe Kelutral to such a state? Where are our beloved Sarentu and their clanmates? And will we ever find out what has happened to Nor? These questions and more will hopefully be answered on December 19th, when From the Ashes hits stores worldwide.
